Karen M. Nowosad is the Founder and Director of The Gardner Associates (www.TheGardnerAssociates.com), a human resource consulting firm whose mission is to help individuals and organizations acquire skills and behaviors that will assist them in developing a positive environment where they can thrive.  The firm has earned a reputation of providing quality performance consulting, instructional design, customized training, and coaching services.

She also formed a partnership with Joanna Winquist with the DeterminEssence Group where employee communication, morale issues, and career transition situations are addressed.

Karen received a B.S. in Education, with a concentration in English from Duquesne University and a Master of Arts Degree from Kean University.  Before entering corporate life, Karen taught English and Reading skills in several New Jersey public schools and at Kean.


Her corporate experience includes working for Beneficial Finance Corporation and then for The CIT Group as Manager, Training and Development.   Throughout the years, Karen has worked with clients in a variety of industries including transportation, finance, health care, manufacturing, retail and government.  Clients range from small and medium size businesses to Fortune 1000 companies.

Karen is active in the community through her volunteer activities with ASTD.  Locally, she served as President of the Northern New Jersey Chapter of ASTD.  On the National level, she served as the 2003 Chairperson of ASTD’s Leadership Design Team that is responsible for planning the organization’s annual Leader’s Conference for chapters and networks throughout the world.

    I really enjoyed your class yesterday on Energizing Your Classroom. I am the one that did not know what a blog was. Thanks for filling me in and also directing me to WordPress.com.
